Common Questions and Answers

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Please cancel at least 48 hours in advance prior to your trip. Otherwise, a FULL PRICE will be charge on your credit card. Specialty trips, including annual Red Snapper Trips, will also be charged a Full Price.  We do not charge if inclement weather occurs, marine advisory or high seas and strong winds and storms in the area.  Please note that NO SHOW will also be charged a full price for each reservation. 

Q: Do you clean the fish?

A: Fish cleaning is available and is free of charge however gratuity is greatly appreciated after your day is over.  

Q: What dates are available?

A: Please call 904-220-6363 for date availabilty.

Q: What should I bring on my trip?

A: Sunscreen, hat, food, snack and drinks and a great attitude. We hope to see you soon!

Q: What is the departure time?

A: Our boats run full-day, 8-hour trips from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or  from 9:00am to 5:00pm weather permitting.

Q: When should I arrive / Check In and how do I get there?

A: Please arrive and check in at the Monty's Marina between 7:00 and 7:30 AM if booked for the 8AM to 4PM trip and  between 8am and 8:30am for the 9am to 5pm trip. For directions call (904) 246-7575.  The Monty's Marina will be open at 7am for directions only.

Q.How far will we go out?

A: We fish approximately 15 to 30 miles offshore.

Q: What is your tipping policy?

A: Our crews and captains work for wages and tips. While tipping is not required, it is customary to tip 20% for good service.

Q: Are beverages and food options available?

A: We currently do not sell food or beverages. However, you are allowed to bring your own.

Q: Are gift certificates / Prepaid Tickets available?

A: Prepaid Tickets can be purchased at our office every Monday 8-4pm or ou can also call our reservation line at (904) 220-6363 to order them and we will mail it to you.  Prepaid Tickets are not valid for use on our Specialty Trips such as Red Snapper season, half day trips or 12 hour trips if offered.  

Q: Are your boats wheelchair accessible?

A: Neither of our boats are ADA compliant or equipped for the handicapped (this includes bathrooms). However, we are able to transport those in non-electric wheelchairs onto and off our boats.

Q: Are private charters available?

A: We do offer Private Charters for families, company outings, church groups, and other parties. Please call us for availability and pricing.

Q: Do I need a fishing license?

A: Your ticket price includes your fishing license, rod, reel, bait, and tackle for the day.

Q: May I bring liquor aboard?

A: No, unfortunately. Our trips are family oriented. However, each person may bring one six-pack cans of beer for the day (no glass containers are allowed in the vessel). Drunkenness and profanity are not allowed.

Q: May I bring a cooler?

A: Yes. A 48-quart cooler is the maximum size allowed. Please pack light, as we have already have ice boxes for your fish.

Q: May I bring my own tackle?

A: Yes. We provide rods and reels to each guest, but you are welcome to bring your own. We fish with 80 lb. test and we recommend 80 lb. test. We allow no more than 3 rods per person. Braided lines are discourraged and Trouble hooks are not allowed.

Q: I have some health concerns; is your boat the right one for me?

A: Those with knee, back, and heart problems, as well as pregnant women and those who have undergone surgery recently should not come aboard. A small charter boat may be an option for those with health concerns.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?

A: Yes. We accept Visa, Discover, and Mastercard to secure your reservation. However, we ask that you please pay for your trip in full with cash at the time of arrival. Please avoid using rewards cards. Thank you for understanding.
